These two things are not secret: we love Negronis and we're obsessed with Ghia, a bitter aperitif inspired by the Mediterranean. The simple format of a Negroni is ripe for creating variations, and so, without further ado, we present the Ghiagroni. Juicy, fresh, and bitter, this is the perfect cocktail for Aperitivo hour.
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake briefly (just long enough to chill but not overdilute).
Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
Garnish with an orange twist, first expressing the oils over the drink.
Recipe Note
ORANGE SIMPLE SYRUP RECIPE
Combine 1 cup water with 1 cup sugar in a small saucepan. Add the juice from 1 orange and the peels from 4 oranges. Bring to a light simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, let cool, strain, and bottle. Orange simple syrup will last in the fridge for a month and makes a great triple sec replacement.
Hi Lisa, sorry for the confusion! Lyre’s Aperitif Rosso is their sweet vermouth alternative.
You mention Lyre’s sweet vermouth in the comments but not in the ingredients. Did you mean Lyre’s aperitif Rosso?
